Missing FBI Agent's Wife Again Appeals to Public
With Stephen Ivens' birthday Thursday and Father's Day Sunday, Thea Ivens' pain only deepens, some 30 days after she reported her husband missing.
The wife of FBI Special Agent Stephen Ivens -- who went missing more than a month ago -- Wednesday renewed her appeal for public help in finding him.
"I wanted the community to have awareness that my husband is still missing," Thea Ivens told City News Service. "His birthday will be tomorrow. I somehow want him to see my message that we miss him and love him."
She said that for about 13 days after his disappearance, authorities actively searched for him.

"Now there are no leads," she said.
Ivens, who turns 36 Thursday, was assigned to the FBI's Los Angeles office.

He was last seen at his home in the 1700 block of Scott Road in Burbank on May 10. Authorities believed he but a search of the area turned up no sign of him.
Authorities described Ivens as despondent and possibly suicidal, and he apparently took his FBI-issued handgun with him.
Thea Ivens said she was surprised when she awoke one morning and her husband was gone, even though he had been declared clinically depressed by a therapist.
She said that her husband had been upset about "an incident at work." She would not say what the incident was but added it began last year and the situation became worse in February.
"It got to the point where he couldn't sleep because of anxiety attacks. I would help to calm him down," she said.
In an open letter a few days after the disappearance, Thea Ivens wrote: "Steve is more than just a missing person. He is a father, a husband, a son, a brother, a nephew, a friend and a colleague in this community. Steve, if you are out there listening right now, your wife wants to let you know, 'Babe, we are in this together for better or for worse. I love you, no matter what happens."'
The family created a Facebook page titled "Let's Bring Steve Home."
Ivens is white, about 6 feet tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and receding brown hair and wears prescription glasses. Anyone with more information about the case is urged to call the Burbank Police Department at (818) 238-3000, or the FBI at (310) 477-6565.
