Missing Boy Found in Murrieta

A fifth-grader who failed to return home from Thursday from Buchanan Elementary School was located by police after a more than six-hour search.

A fifth-grader who went missing after school Thursday has been located by police.

The boy was found at on Murrieta Hot Springs Road at about 10:45 p.m., according to Murrieta police Sgt. Daryl Underwood.

A message went home Thursday to parents of students at about the missing boy, Patch readers reported.

"We were looking for him for a good six and a half hours," Underwood said. "He got upset because he got in some trouble at school."

Underwood said the boy was in the process of being reunited with his parents and that no foul play was suspected.

"There was nothing suspicious or critical," Underwood told Patch.

He does need discipline he willfully and deliberately did something at school and then added to that running away! Hug him and then spank him and I bet he'll know not to do that again!

And they need corporal punishment which is against the law now and we wonder why all these kids talk to their parents and other adults the way they do it's because sittin' in the corner or gettin' your stuff taken away does not hit home like a switch across a bottom!
