A female shopper at in La Cañada told deputies an unidentified man tried to take pictures underneath her skirt, according to a sheriff's report.
The woman told deputies that a man approached her on July 11 while she shopped inside the Korean market near Briggs Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, according to a report from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The man allegedly asked her random questions and directed her attention to the items on the shelves, the report states.
He then started to slide a camera-topped mop under her clothes. The woman's husband realized what was going on and attempted to retrieve the camera, according to the report.
The suspect ran and tossed the phone on the building's roof and locked himself into a storage room.
When deputies arrived they found the phone with no images or video of lewd conduct. No arrest was made.
