LASD Names New Top Cop at CV Sheriff's Station

Capt. Bill Song had been working as an executive aide to an assistant sheriff in the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

Starting Sunday, Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Capt. Bill Song will take the helm of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station, authorities have announced.

Song, a 22-year veteran, replaces Capt. David Silversparre, who has transferred to the Communications and Fleet Management Bureau. Silversparre spent five years at the Briggs Avenue Station. Read more about his departure here.

According to a press release release from Sgt. Mark Slater, Song served as executive aide to assistant sheriff Cecil Rhambo.

"I am very excited to take command of the Crescenta Valley Station and to work alongside all the dedicated personnel at the station to provide quality service to the very supportive communities served by the Crescenta Valley Station,"  Song said in a prepared statement.
