Investigators: Other Motorist Ran Light in Temecula Fatal

The resident had been traveling west on Rancho California Road and entered the intersection against a red light, according to a Riverside County sheriff's sergeant.

Sheriff's traffic investigators Sunday said that a Temecula resident blew through a red light, causing a crash that left two senior citizens from Yorba Linda dead.

The resident was taken to a hospital with major injuries following the fatal crash on Rancho California Road, near Jefferson Avenue, according to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. John Magnan.

"Investigation revealed the 2006 Hyundai ... had been traveling westbound on Rancho California and entered the intersection against a red light and struck the Honda as the driver was making a left-hand turn onto eastbound Rancho California Road," Magnan wrote in a news release.

Amar Jain, 74, and Cheryl Jain, 66, were both pronounced dead according to the Riverside County Coroner's office.

Amar Jain was the driver and was trapped in his vehicle, Patch learned at the scene; he was pronounced dead at 3:18 p.m.

Cheryl Jain was the passenger; she was pronounced dead at 3:22 p.m., the coroner's office reported.

The road was closed for about five hours so that authorities could free the trapped motorist, clear the wreck and further investigate.

Traffic investigators were still working Sunday to determine all the factors in the crash, Magnan said.

"At this time of the investigation, officers are unable to determine if alcohol and/or drugs contributed to the cause of the collision," he wrote.

Committees and Task Forces are a total waste of time . They are a form of low life bureaucracy, that never achieve solutions. Just a huge pile of Bull #hit. and money plus time wasted. Politicians and the Military are experts in those domains.

Wow, a lot of complaining and sorry excuses is all I am hearing from some. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. See how far your whining gets you in life then give me a call.

Sounds like you want the police to do their job. Why do you need a task force for that?Shouldn't that be a given?

Actually, they knew he didn't have a medical condition because he was fleeing from another crash.

You are right Michael the other newer article just says he is a chronic wreckless driver, or something like that. ?!?!?! Chronic wreckless driver with a drivers license who started out in the Vons parking lot, racing around in there for a few, hitting a few cars I understood it to be, then hit a few cars on the road on the way to the collision that killed the Jain"s. Why they did not elaborate the story on this guy to include his starting point of Vons is beyond me............any ideas out there? Why in the world would a 45 year old man(going on memory here from next article)be driving like this with no mental or physical problems or illness's?? Sorry but he must be totally insane or he is a murder'er getting his 1st murder in but with charges like vehicular manslaughter instead of cold blooded murder 1. Its a doozey thats for sure.
