Helicopter Attempts to Scare Bobcats in La Crescenta

Local authorities are using a helicopter to try and scare away bobcats in La Crescenta Tuesday night.

Officials are using a helicopter to scare away bobcats wandering a La Crescenta neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The call came in about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday near Pineridge Drive and Rosemont Avenue, said Deputy Rachel Whittendurg of the Crescenta Valley Station.

Editor's Note: Initial reports from authorities indicated mountain lions were in the area. These were bobcats. Patch regrets this error.

Greg....This is the kind of light hearted posts so desparately needed at this time. I doubt the cost effectiveness of this. The Bob cats will be back and the bill for the helicopter service won't go away either.

The secret to getting the Bobcats to go elsewhere is to put a large pic of Justin Bieber on a Pine tree...way up the hill...

Only if you corner it. We had one sitting on the garden wall located six feet from our dining room window. (I have photos). It looks like a large house cat but the pointy ears and the taller stature prove that it was a bobcat.

Mountain Lions - are another story. They are dangerous to people. Especially small people.
