Heads Up! The 28th Annual National Night Out Is Aug. 2
The Foothill communities are invited to join law enforcement and emergency personnel for the annual anti-crime event.
National Night Out is happening Aug. 2 from 6-8 p.m., during which 15,000 communities across America will take part in anti-crime activities.
The event is designed to "strengthen neighborhood spirit and community partnerships," according to an announcement by the . Locally, the Night Out is sponsored by the Sheriff's Department Crescenta Valley Station and the National Association of Town Watch.
The event will include free fingerprinting for children, awesome give-aways and plenty of free safety pamphlets. Locals are invited to hang out and get to know the Foothills' hardworking police officers and firefighters.

Deputy Jorge Valdivia explained at the Crescenta Valley Town Council meeting Thursday that the event is also designed to let the criminals know the community is fighting back against crime.
