Glendale Ranked 8th Safest Among Cities With 100,000+ Population

The City of Glendale was ranked as the 8th safest city with 100,000 population or higher according to the annual FBI Uniformed Crime Report for 2012.

The statistics collected by the FBI for the report include the portions of the Crescenta Valley patrolled by the Glendale Police Department (a map of those areas can be viewed here).

The city's rank improved from 17th safest in the country in last year's report and it also went from 7th safest in California to 5th safest, according to a release sent out by the department.

There were no murders in the city in 2012 and 233 total violent crimes compared to 258 in 2011, according to the city's crime reports.
