Glendale City Council Questions Candidate About Racist Comments

Zareh Sinanyan faced the City Council earlier this week regarding 'threatening' online comments attributed to him.

Zareh Sinanyan, whose campaign for Glendale City Council has come under fire because of allegations of racist online comments, refused to deny that he was indeed the creator of those comments and told questioners that the words "do not represent" him as a person, according to a story in the Glendale News-Press.

The allegations against Sinanyan, considered a top contender for a council spot heading into the April 2 election, has cost him support and endorsements across the board, including the backing of Rep. Adam Schiff. It has also led to other council members to propose stripping Sinanyan of his post on the Community Development Block Grant Advisory Committee, a proposal that he called a "smear campaign" earlier this week, according to the News-Press.
