Glendale Bear Makes its Twitter Debut

A black bear that made several appearances in La Crescenta and Glendale in March now has a Twitter account inspired by its late night feasts.

A Glendale Bear known for  and picking an orange last month in the foothills now has a Twitter persona

Locals can follow @TheGlendaleBear, also known as Glen Bearian, on Twitter.

"You can find me by the Foothills of Glendale and La Crescenta in California. Or wherever there's food," according to its Twitter page.

@TheGlendaleBear also tweets fellow mountain wildlife, including @JPL_Bear and @BurbankMtnLion

The black bear has made about five stops in the area the Whiting Woods, the Los Angeles Times reported, including several sightings in the Crescenta Valley Park area.

The California Fish and Game officials will not take action against the bear unless it is an imminent threat, The Times reported. 

Residents are encouraged to keep trash indoors until trash collection morning. 

Glendale Police Department officials urge anyone who sees or hears a bear to call 911 immediately or (818) 550-6569 for non-emergencies.
