Fire Alongside 2 Freeway Burns Two Acres of Brush
Firefighters put out the flames in 18 minutes, but southbound lanes were closed between Broadway and Colorado.
At least two acres of brush burned alongside the Glendale (2) Freeway Thursday in nearby Eagle Rock, but no one was injured, a city fire official said.
The fire was reported at 2:14 p.m. at 2790 W. Broadway, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Nearby southbound lanes were closed on the 2 freeway between Broadway and Colorado Boulevard along with on-ramps in the area, Humphrey said.

Los Angeles and Glendale firefighters had the flames under control in 18 minutes, Humphrey said, but clean up was expected to continue for about an hour.
No injuries were immediately reported. No structures were threatened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
