Elderly Driver Damages Portion of Area Business

No injuries were reported in the crash, deputies said.

An elderly driver was uninjured after accidentally hitting the accelerator and crashing her car into a portion of a La Canada Flintridge business.

The accident was reported at 10:50 a.m. in front of Angel's Nest, 468 West Foothill Blvd. The elderly driver's shoe became stuck on the accelerator and she hit the building, according to Sergeant Cynthia Gonzales of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station.

Authorities were unable to confirm how much damage was caused as deputies were still investigating the crash, but fire fighters said the car hit one of the planters in front of the business and may have broken some windows, according to scanner reports.

No other injuries were reported.

Editor's Note: This story originally stated the incident happened in La Crescenta. This is incorrect and Patch regrets this error.

I was across the street about to go into Trader Joes when it happened this morning. It made quite a smash...thank heavens nobody was injured! My heart goes out to the Angels Nest folks...I think it was just a couple weeks ago someone did a smash and grab on a Saturday morning and broke their windows. Not having a good end of year ;-(

I am grateful there were no injuries. I am sure the driver feels bad, too. I wish everyone good luck from now on.
