Eaton Canyon Night Rescue (Photos)

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department sent out the following photos of a seven-hour complicated night rescue that took place at Eaton Canyon on Thursday.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department sent out the above photos of a rescue that took place nearby Eaton Canyon on Thursday night.

As previously reported on the site, a hiker became stranded in a canyon nearby the second waterfalls and managed to get himself stuck about 500 feet down from where rescuers could reach him.

It took seven hours to carry out the rescue, with it ending around 12:30 p.m.

According to the department release, it ultimately took 1,400 feet of rope to reach the hiker and 24 search and rescue personnel from the Altadena and Sierra Madre volunteer teams.
