The bomb squad responded and determined the suspicious device was harmless. Sheriff's believe the incident could just be a case of vandalism.

Authorities called in the bomb squad to investigate a device thrown through the window of a La Crescenta home Thursday afternoon but no explosive material was found, according to a sheriff's official.

The device crashed through the window of a home in the 5400 block of Briggs Avenue at about 1:30 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Mann said.

No suspects were seen or identified. Mann said the incident may have merely been vandalism.
