Deputies Arrest Teen Behind Wheel of Reported Stolen Vehicle

The teenager is still in custody at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station.

Deputies arrested a teen Sunday morning in Montrose after learning the vehicle the child drove was reported stolen.

The 15-year-old driver was detained at gunpoint by deputies around 10:30 a.m. on New York Avenue at Thelma Street. The teen is still in the custody of authorities and the fate of the suspect was not immediately known, said Sheriff's Lt. Angela Shepherd of the Crescenta Valley Station.

Deputies were notified of the stolen vehicle by the owner's tracking device. The company informed the Crescenta Valley Station of the vehicle's whereabouts.

The vehicle was reported stolen out of Indio, Shepherd said.
