Critical Injury Car Crash Shuts Down 210 Freeway

Officials transported a man with critical injuries by helicopter to a hospital.

A driver slammed his pick up truck into a big rig on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway and was transported by helicopter to a trauma center in critical condition, according to the California Highway Patrol

It's unclear if the person, who is listed as 70 years old, was driving or a passenger when the accident happened about 3:35 p.m. Friday near Lowell Avenue in La Crescenta, CHP Officer Tatiana Sauquillo told Patch. 

Firefighters needed the jaws of life to pull out the man, who apparently slammed his pick up truck into a big rig
