Crime Blotter: Residential Burglaries

Burglary

A resident in the 3000 block of Community Avenue returned home from work on the afternoon of Monday, Oct. 3, a resident in the 3000 block of Community Avenue.

He noticed a ladder had been moved from his home's back yard and placed beneath a second story bedroom window. Closer inspection reveleaded the window's screen to be bent.

The resident then inspected the rest of the home's windows and doors and discovered the rubber molding removed from a kitchen window and two panes of glass tampered with. The door knob of the home's main entry door had been smashed. The report noted that the home had been locked and secured and it appeared no one had been able to enter the residence. Damages totaled about $425.

Necklace and Camera Reported Stolen

On Tuesday, Oct. 4, a woman reported to deputies that some time between Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18, a necklace and a camera were taken from her home in the 2800 block of Henrietta Avenue. She noticed the necklace missing from her master bathroom and the camera gone from a table near the master bedroom. She told deputies that she did not think to report the items missing at the time but had found her kitchen's sliding door, usually left open about a foot for her dog to go in and out, wide open during that weekend. The Nikon SLR digital camera is valued at $1,000 and the diamond and gold necklace valued at $700. Deputies found no sign of forced entry at the residence.

Glendale Police reported a petty theft at 12:52 p.m. Sunday in the 5000 block of Lauderdale Avenue.

An assault was reported at 3:40 p.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of Montrose Avenue.

At 11 a.m. Monday, a burglary was reported in the 3100 block of Honolulu Avenue.

Glendale Police reported a burglary in the 1900 block of Calafia Street at 12:57 p.m. Monday.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported a petty theft in the 2300 block of Teasely Street at 2 p.m. Monday.

A vehicle break-in was reported in the 2000 block of Verdugo Boulevard at 3 p.m. Monday.

Glendale Police reported an assault in the 3900 block of Rosemont Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

An assault was reported by Glendale Police at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Dolorita Avenue.

Sheriffs reported an aggravated assault in the 2200 block of Montrose Avenue at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The following reports were taken from Glendale Police daily booking reports. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Steven Viramontes, 28, was arrested at 3:25 p.m. Monday at Foothill Boulevard and Pinewood Avenue on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and a warrant for driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Sarkis Berberyan, 28, and Gevork Berberyan, a 34-year-old truck driver, were arrested about 11:00 a.m. Thursday at 4169 Verdugo Road on suspicion of possession of marijuana with an intent to sell. Bail was set at $20,000 for each suspect.
