A round-up of the week in crime.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Marisa R Yance, a 49-year-old resident of La Crescenta, was booked for possession of drug paraphernalia at on Thursday, May 12, after the car she was riding in was pulled over near the intersection of Briggs and Whittier Avenues for having no license plates.

While seated in the passenger seat, Yance made a movement that caused the reporting deputy to fear that was attempting to conceal a weapon or illegal contraband. The deputy saw a white, powdery substance smeared into the vehicle’s carpet near the gearshift and a piece of tied plastic resembling a baggie. Found inside Yance’s purse was a small container holding glass rock cocaine pipes burnt at one end and several pieces of brunt screen, recognized by the deputy as items used to smoke rock cocaine.

Yance admitted the pipes belonged to her but noted that she was going to throw them away. She was booked at the CV Station.

Burglary

At 5:30 p.m. Saturday, a resident in the 4500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue came home to find that someone had entered his residence through an attached garage and stole items from the living room and bedroom of the house. Reported stolen were a Dell laptop computer valued at $1200, a jewelry box and assorted jewelry worth $2550 combined, and a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar valued at $600.

 

The following information was gathered from the Glendale Police Department:


Methamphetamines, Stolen Property

At 11:10 p.m. Friday, May 13, 22-year-old Enrique Sergio Brambila was arrested at Honolulu and Rosemont Avenues. He allegedly received stolen property, was in possession of methamphetamine, and was driving without a license.

Assault and battery, plus more

At 1:45 a.m. on May 15, 30-year-old Jeffrey Michael Martin was arrested at Honolulu Avenue and Ramsdell Avenue in Montrose. He was booked for possession of a controlled substance, 242 PC assault and battery, and 415(2) PC disturbing the peace with bail set at $11,000.

Driving Without a License

At 1:54 a.m. on May 18 Janelle Lynn Tavizon was arrested at 2349 Honolulu Ave. She was booked for driving without a license.
