Crash on 134 East Freeway Snarls Traffic up to the 2 Freeway

Friday morning's rush-hour crash near Figueroa Street disrupts traffic for about 15 minutes.

A crash involving three or four sedans on the eastbound Pasadena (134) Freeway near the Figueroa Street exit in Eagle Rock Friday morning caused rush-hour traffic to back up for about 15 minutes nearly to the Glendale (2) Freeway.

The California Highway Patrol received a call about the crash at 7:51 a.m., according to CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos.

It wasn’t immediately clear if anyone was injured in the crash. “If there were injuries, they were minimum,” Villalobos told Patch, adding that the backed up traffic was “fortunately not to the point where it had a  major impact.”

The crash caused two of the sedans to block the freeway’s two left lanes, but a CHP officer on the scene was able to get the vehicles over to the freeway’s right shoulder in about 15 minutes, Villalobos said.

The cause of the crash isn’t yet known and is under investigation, he added.
