Charred Body Discovered in Burned out Car in Tujunga
Badly burned body difficult to identify, officials said.
Los Angeles police checking a burned-out car that was impounded in nearby Tujunga were surprised to find a charred human body in the rear seat, a Los Angeles Police sergeant said.
The 1992 Honda Prelude was found on fire in the 6100 block of sister Elsie Drive about 2 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Derek Brown of the Foothill Station said.
"It was so severely burned they couldn't tell whether it was a man or woman,'' Brown said. "We have not been able to identify the victim."

It was unclear if police found the registered owner. The car was not reported stolen, Brown said.
