Brush Fire Above JPL Contained

The small 3-acre fire was contained as of 1:50 p.m.

Updated 1:55 p.m: The fire has been contained and crews will continue to work to put it fully out.  In total, the burn area was 3 acres, according to Inspector Johnson of the County Fire Department.

Earlier: A brush fire is burning above the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Canada Flintridge on Monday afternoon.

The fire is ranging somewhere between .75 of an acre to 1.5 acres and there are about 115 firefighters on scene as of 1:15 p.m., according to Inspector Don Kunipomi of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The call about the fire came in around 12:30, and firefighters were on scene within 15 minutes, he said.
