Body of Silver Lake Activist and Adventurer Recovered From Forest Tuesday

The body of Henry "Dick" DeRusha was discovered late Monday afternoon. Darkness and rugged terrain prevented a retrieval until the next morning.

DeRusha had gone missing after leaving on a hike Friday and was reported missing by his son early Monday.

DeRusha, a teacher by profession, was a progressive activist and experienced hiker, who, according to one source, taught hiking safety for the Sierra Club.
