Body ID'd as Missing Turkish Engineer

Hikers found Ertug Ergun, 33, in Big Tujunga Canyon about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, according to coroner's officials. Authorities disclosed the cause of the Turkish engineer's death.

Coroner's officials identified the body found in Big Tujunga Canyon Saturday as the in Angeles National Forest nearly two weeks ago. 

, 33, was reported missing by his employer in Bakersfield on June 20, Coroner's Lt. Joe Bale told Patch. His body was found submersed in water, covered by brush near the base of a waterfall at Vasquez Creek about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. 

Medical examiners listed multiple traumatic injuries on his body, including head trauma, as the cause of death, he said.

Investigators said that Ergun's blunt force injuries were noted as accidental, Bale said. An autopsy report is still pending, he added.  

Sheriff's deputies discovered Ergun's car at the Stonyvale Picnic Area on June 22. Local search and rescue teams hiked through rugged terrain for more than a week to find him.
