Big Rig Crash Causes Traffic Jam on 210 Westbound near Pasadena

The truck jackknifes and spills its entire load of wood and metal sidings.

A big rig carrying a load of wood crashed today on the transition road from the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway back to the westbound 210 Freeway in Pasadena, temporarily blocking that roadway, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The single-vehicle crash took place just after 4 p.m., CHP Officer Tony Polizzi said.

Drivers need to take the transition road to get back on to the westbound 210 freeway after it splits off, Polizzi said.

No injuries were reported, he said.

The truck jackknifed and spilled its entire load of wood and metal sidings, Polizzi said.

The truck, wood and metal debris blocked both lanes of the transition road, he said. The CHP declared a SigAlert at 4:57 p.m.

The road was expected to be closed until at least 9 p.m. for cleanup, Polizzi said.
