Altadena Men Arrested in Montrose for Alleged Identity Theft

Two Altadena men were found of possession of a Monrovia man's credit card and booked at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station.

Sheriff's deputies learned that a 49-year-old retired Monrovia man was the potential victim of identity theft when they pulled over two men driving in a Pontiac Sunbird with a bad brake light.

Terry Frank Jenkins, 31, of Altadena and Donavan Earle Davis, Jr., 37, of Altadena were pulled over for having a bad brake light near Montrose Avenue and Mira Vista Avenue about 11:50 a.m. Aug. 26, according to a report from the . Jenkins was also driving with an expired license.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found two stolen credit cards under the driver's seat, officials said. Jenkins allegedly told deputies the cards belonged to his cousin.

After admitting that he allegedly lied to deputies that his credit cards were his cousins, officials determined the cards belonged to the Monrovia man, whose name was not released, police said.

went to the victim's home. The victim told police that he neither knew the suspects nor gave them permission to use his credit cards, according to the report. The victim also had no signs of home burglary but was missing the cards from his wallet.

It was unclear how the suspects could have obtained the victim's credit cards.

Both Jenkins and Davis were booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property and identity theft.
