500-Pound Bear Climbs Through La Crescenta Yards

Residents reported a 500-pound black bear near Lowell Avenue and Franklin Street late Wednesday night.

Locals are on the look out again after another bear made its way into foothill residents' backyards near the border of La Crescenta and Tujunga, RMG News and CBS2 reported. 

The bear was originally spotted at Santa Carlotta Street and Glencove Avenue about 11 p.m. Wednesday, Glendale police Sgt. Tim Oswandel told Patch.

"Several people saw it and described it as a large bear," Oswandel said.

The bear moved toward Lowell Avenue and Franklin Street, Oswandel said. It started heading toward the Tujunga area and Glendale police notified LAPD animal control.
