Notice for customers of Glendale Water and Power

This notice is for customers of Glendale Water and Power who are registered to vote.  The City currently adds a Utility Users Tax of 7% onto your water and electric charges, including your gas bill, and also adds 6.5% UUT on our cable and telephone bills.  None of these taxes go back to the utility.  If it had,  it would have substantially reduced or eliminated the 29.1% electric rate increase to be implemented over the next five years.

By signing this petition, this puts the initiative onto the ballot, giving voters the opportunity to review the arguments for and the arguments against,  and then and only then, deciding whether they want to continue to pay the UUT on all their utility usuage or repeal it.  If it passes, you automatically reduce all of your utility usage fees by 6.5 to 7%.  If you would you like to put this on the ballot?
