The "Pacific Electric Railway, Then & Now," at Pasadena Museum of History

How the Big Red Cars changed, shaped Southern California.

The Pacific Electric Railway is gone, but not forgotten. In the early part of the last century, the "Big Red Car" routes played a major role in where people settled, worked, played, and thus helped create the Southern California we know today.

Pasadena Museum of History has a new exhibition, running this month to January, which will bring the railway back into focus, through images and artifacts.

"The photographic collection of the Pacific Electric Railway Historical Society, owned and curated by the Mount Lowe Preservation Society, has thousands of images which became the basis for a recent book, Pacific Electric Railway, Then & Now. The exhibition at PMH will include an expanded collection of images found in this work from the archives, including rare images from the past that will be compared to what's in the same locations today, as seen through the lens of photographer Steve Crise." -- PMH website

I feel bad that teachers are having to pull money out of their own pockets, I wonder whateverRead More happened to the lottery money that was supposed to go to schools? I am a volunteer for an organization that offers free drug education kits to any teacher with booklets on the various harmful drugs . Educators play a vital role for our children and in society and should be supported in any way possible. Any who might be interested, e-mail me at tbadger2000@yahoo.com.
