Patch Blog: Bike Racks--How Will You Use Them?

Discuss how you plan to use the new bike racks in Montrose.

Wow, I can't believe it. They are here!

And I've used them. The bike racks of course. Obviously one would use these to lock up their pedal powered ride. But to what end?

I myself, along with my wife, attended the tree and street lighting ceremony for "White Friday" in the Montrose Shopping Park. We rode our bikes down, locked them up and walked around to enjoy the sights and sounds.

More recently we met up with my wife's parents for lunch on Sunday. After that we walked the Farmer's market and loaded up some bags with some goodies. Our bike equipped with a basket came in handy!

We envision many ways to use bikes to get around Montrose, not only for transport but for getting groceries, grabbing a bite to saving some money and fuel.

How will you use your bike and the new bike racks?

I'll be using it to park my bike and walk to the Rose Parade. On second thought, I have to work that day. Nevermind.

Maybe after work on January 2nd, you can build a bridge and get over it.

I can't wait to use them! I think I'm going to attempt lugging my reporting equipment down Rosemont Avenue on my green Schwinn for the Montrose Christmas Parade on Saturday. I'll have bike lights and I can't wait to see everyone there! I hear Walk Bike Glendale is marching, actually, riding through the Montrose Christmas Parade. Who's part of that group? Anybody else marching or biking through Montrose?
George L. November 30, 2011 at 08:41 pm
Yes! Walk Bike Glendale will have a large group participating including my wife and I. We plan to light up our bikes along with our (her) usual signature flair.
Look forward to seeing you! I think I might actually post about the parade to encourage both participation and attendance.

I can well empathsize with your loss. First thing, can you remember taking it off anywhere? DidRead More you wash your hands anywhere, soap makes fingers slippery. Did it fit well or was it a little loose? Running makes the arms swing. Strange as it may seem, it may still be in or on your own property. There are still honest people, call the desk of every business you went to. Also, call every pawn shop in your area and report. Good luck. If its any comfort, I found a diamond studded tie tack when I gazed at the soil in my garden and saw it. Keep us posted. b
