It's that time of year again. Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church (CVUMC) is hosting their annual Empty Bowls event on Saturday, November 10 to raise money to feed the hungry.

The concept is a simple one: for a donation of $15, participants receive a beautiful handmade bowl and delicious soup donated by local restaurants and individuals, all in the midst of a warm, musical atmosphere.

Several local businesses are donating food to help make this a successful event and the charities that we are helping include theThe Ecumenical Council of Pasadena Area Congregations’ Friends in Deed House. The Ecumenical Council of Pasadena Area Congregations’ Friends in Deed House; Tujunga United Methodist Church’s Bailey Human Care Center, and Christians Concerned for Burma, an organization that offers food and medical care to tribes displaced by the Burmese government.

Empty Bowls will also bring awareness to Bread for the World, a collective Christian voice urging our nation's leaders to end hunger at home and abroad.
