Careers and Research in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering

 



"Careers and Research in
Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering” will be presented at Glendale Community College on Tuesday, April 29
at 12:20 p.m. in Cimmarusti Science Center room 177.

The speaker
is Ann Karagozian, Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
at UCLA.  She will discuss the range of
possible careers one can have with a college major in aerospace or mechanical
engineering, including those in the energy and aerospace/defense sectors.  She will also describe the preparation for
studying engineering at a four-year university.

Karagozian
has been a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
at UCLA since 1982. Her research interests lie in fluid mechanics and
combustion as applied to improved engine efficiency, reduced emissions,
alternative fuels and advanced air breathing and rocket propulsion systems. She
was a member of the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board for nearly 12 years and
twice received the Air Force Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service.



The
presentation is part of the GCC Science Lecture Series.  Admission is free and open to the
public.  Additional information may be
