Record Temps Strike Southland Sunday

The dial gets up to 96 degrees in Montrose and La Crescenta.

Record high temperatures were set at three Los Angeles County weather stations Sunday, including 101 degrees at Burbank's Bob Hope International Airport.

The old record there, 100 degrees, was set in 1976.

Lancaster's high reading of 98 broke the old record, 97, set in 1996.

At the remote weather station at Sandberg, not far from the gas stations on the Grapevine at Lebec, the temperature hit 88. That broke the old record of 83 set in 2012.

In Montrose and La Crescenta, the temperature hit a high of 96 degrees Sunday, according to weather.com. The temerature is expected to be a high of 93 Monday before cooling off for the rest of the week.
