Heat and Humidity to Continue This Week

There is a slight chance of thunderstorms Wed. and Thurs.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement and hazardous weather outlook for the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County Mountains and nearby areas.

The high temperatures and increased humidity of recent days were caused by an upper level high pressure system centered over southwest California, according to NWS. This system will continue to bring heat and humidity through Thursday, with the excess moisture in the air making the warm temperatures feel higher than they actually are.

There is a slight chance that the high pressure system could bring afternoon thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday, said NWS.
