Detectives Need Help Finding 'Midnight Bandit' Suspected in Glendale Robberies

The "Midnight Bandit" has allegedly robbed dozens of gas stations and convenience stores over the last year.

Investigators asked for the public's help Monday in apprehending a man nicknamed the "Midnight Bandit" who has allegedly robbed gas stations and convenience stores in Glendale and throughout the Los Angeles area.

The suspect is accused of robbing 58 businesses in the area between April 2012 and May 2013, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

"He typically approaches lone gas station clerks in the middle of the night usually between 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., while armed with a handgun and steals the money from the gas station register," the release states. "The suspect is armed with a handgun and should be considered very dangerous."

A surveillance camera recently captured images of the suspect driving a silver or gray 2000-2004 Jaguar S Type four door sedan during a robbery in the city of Bell.

Anyone with information on the suspect can contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau at 562-946-7893.
