Most things that sound too good to be true usually are. When it comes to weight loss, one tip may be an exception to the rule. There is one thing you can do that 99% of the people trying to lose weight don’t take advantage of. The good news, it doesn’t take any physical effort.
There is an author by the name of Maxwell Maltz who wrote a book called Psycho- Cybernetics. What he researched and concluded was that the brain can’t tell the difference between real and imagined results. This means using your brain can help you get where you want to be.
All you need to do is spend three to five minutes a day using your imagination. I know it may sound funny but this one trick can be the missing ingredient to finally mastering your goals. I have proven this personally and professionally!
The first thing is to go somewhere where you can concentrate and where you will minimize distractions. The best time may be at night before you go sleep. In your mind create a picture of yourself like you want to be. Think of a picture of how you were at a younger age. This may also be an image of the shape you would love to be in and never have even been close to.
This is not a one time exercise. As you do this more often you begin to actually see fine distinctions and believe what you imagine. To be clear, this is not magic. The hope is that the image you define will then inspire the actions required to accomplish your goals. If a 32 inch waist or a size eight is what you envision, doughnuts probably will not be in your future.
Most people know what they need to do. This one trick may be the impetus to finally starting that exercise program, adding weights to your walking or finally making that call that you’ve been putting off too long. As a wise man once said, “There’s not that many shopping days left”.
