Verdugo Hills Hospital could merge with USC's Keck Medical Center by the end of 2012, according to The Glendale News-Press.
Verdugo Hills Board of Directors voted during a June meeting to partner with USC, spokeswoman Celine Petrossian told the News-Press.
Petrossian told Patch in March that the hospital's financial picture is sound and that explains why other hospitals were discussing possible affiliation with VHH.
The hospital is located at 1812 Verdugo Boulevard in Glendale, at the border of La Canada Flintridge. The hospital has remained independent since it was established as Behrens Memorial Hospital in 1947 and expanded in 1972 as Verdugo Hills Hospital.
