The Day Trader Joe's Came to Montrose

Traffic snarled on Honolulu Avenue while lingering drivers waited for parking spots and long lines packed Montrose at the new Trader Joe's location.

Hundreds of locals stopped by Trader Joe's in Montrose to shop on opening day this Friday.

The long-anticipated opening was a . 

On Thursday night, workers at the second-oldest Trader Joe's on Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta wore party hats biding farewell to the store, saying "1968-2011."
