The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today to its lowest amount since July 20, decreasing 1.1 cents to $3.777.

The average price has dropped on 51 of the past 52 days and is 3.5 cents less than one week ago and 41.6 cents lower than one month ago but 7.7 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price decreased for 48 consecutive days, was unchanged Tuesday and resumed dropping Wednesday, falling four-tenths of a cent. It has fallen 92.8 cents over the past 52 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Thursday.
The Orange County average price of self-serve regular decreased today for the 53rd consecutive day, falling 1 cent to $3.74, its lowest amount since July 19.
The Orange County average price has decreased 95 cents over the past 53 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Thursday, after rising 51.3 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.69 on Oct. 8.
The Orange County average price is 3.2 cents less than one week ago and 40.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 6.8 cents more than one year ago.
"Wholesale prices for California gasoline rose by about 20 cents at the start of the month, but as of Wednesday, the wholesale price dropped to its lowest level since the October spike," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
"If that decrease holds, there is plenty of additional room for gasoline prices to fall further in the coming weeks."
