"We really like it here," Kenneally said. "The community's been very supportive. It seems like they like small business."

Baked on Oceanview serves croissants, muffins, cakes, pies and 'make-your-own' style sandwiches with naturally leavened breads. The breads are also served in sandwiches at Frank's Famous Kitchen & Bakery at 3315 N. Verdugo Rd., Glendale.

Neighbors can pre-order cupcakes, pies, dinner rolls or any special occaision fare, Kenneally said. The new location also serves Peet's Coffee, including lattes and cappucinos.

The bakers create custom works each day, including dinner rolls, fruit tarts, Danishes, cinnamon rolls, cookies, meat pies and even a donut muffin.

"We make all of our fillings, nothing comes out of a can," Kenneally said.

The baking enthusiasts use fresh ingredients, which can be costly, but do make the pastries and cakes better, she said.

"I want to share how much I love baking with my neighbors here," Kenneally said.
