County Average Gasoline Price Drops Under $4

Average price is 20 cents lower than one month ago.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell under the $4 mark today for the first time since Feb. 2, dropping 1.2 cents to $3.988.

The average price has dropped 43 times in 44 days, falling 31.2 cents over that span, including six-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 4.7 cents less than one week ago, 20 cents lower than one month ago and 24.7 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped 1.1 cents today to $3.951, its lowest amount since Feb. 1. It is 5.4 cents less than one week ago, 21.2 cents lower than one month ago and 25.5 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped 46 times in the past 50 days, falling 36.4 cents, including 1.2 cents on Wednesday. It had increased 33 times in 34 days before the decreases began, rising 59.7 cents.
