Antique Vendors Stay, New MSPA Board Members Elected

No changes are made to the Thieves Market as Montrose Shopping Park Association welcomes two new board members: Corey Grijalva, owner of Joselito's Mexican Restaurant, and Andre Ordubegian, owner of Copy Network.

 

Antiques, crafts vendors who were facing elimination from the Montrose Sunday Harvest Market will remain at the market, and two new members will join the Montrose Shopping Park Association. 

The board welcomed two members Corey Grijalva, owner of , and Andre Ordubegian, owner of , on Thursday, Dec. 1.

The board also approved the contract for Harvest Market Manager Mark Sheridan and announced that the Thieves Market, a group of antiques and crafts workers who sell during the Sunday Harvest Market, would continue to sell their goods at the market in 2012.

The MSPA will make no changes to the Thieves Market, according to MSPA Executive Director Dale Dawson. 

Rules and regulations for merchants are posted on the MSPA website, Dawson said. Vendors at the Sunday Harvest Market will also receive these rules and regulations, along with a "Hold Harmless" agreement. 

The Montrose Certified Farmers’ Market rules, regulations and requirements are effective on January 1, 2012. The document indicates that only certified producers, non-certified agricultural producers and vendors can participate in the farmer's market. In addition, producers must also carry a $1 million certificate of liability insurance naming the City of Glendale and Montrose Shopping Park Association as an additional insured.

Montrose Shopping Park Association Elects Two New Board Members

Five candidates ran for two open positions, including Maroun Atallah, owner of ; Sebu Chatoyan, owner of ; Corey Grijalva, owner of ; Andre Ordubegian, owner of ; Robert Yoohanna, owner of Acquire Associated Realty commercial real estate.

Grijalva and Ordubegian were elected in a majority vote from local merchants, according to the tallied votes. Both business owners will take seats on the MSPA board in January 2012. 

"I would like to encourage all of you to get involved," Ken Grayson, owner of , said during the meeting. "One of the dreams I have is to see our board expand from six to nine."
