Al Fresco Dining Planned for Zwick's Plaza

Spanish-style Casa Cordoba is scheduled to open its doors in August. The cafe will serve speciality coffee drinks, fresh salads, sandwiches and even churros.

Montrose will soon have al fresco dining at Casa Cordoba, a Spanish-inspired cafe nestled in secluded Zwick's Plaza.

The eatery is at the former location of Jane's Cakes & Chocolate Supply, which moved to a La Canada Flintridge space.

Casa Cordoba is undergoing construction, inspections from health officials and is expected to open in August, owner Jeannie Bone told Patch.

The menu will feature Southern California foods with a Spanish flair, she said.

Fresh and healthy salads, sandwiches, quiches and barista-made coffee are some main staples, Bone said.

Bone anticipates one speciality will be hot chocolate and cinnamon-drenched churros.

She invites locals to the pet-friendly plaza, where anyone can relax near the trickling fountain.

Casa Cordoba is located at 2331 Honolulu Avenue, Montrose. Learn more about the cafe at Casa Cordoba's website
