Patch Blog: 'Future of Forestry' in Concert at La Crescenta Presbyterian

La Crescenta Presbyterian will be presenting the ambient-rock band "Future of Forestry" along with the band "I Am We" on Friday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m. Future of Forestry is an up-and-coming band that records on Credential Records, a division of EMI Records. Their performance in La Crescenta will be their only stop in Los Angeles County on their current West Coast Tour 2011. The music of Future of Forestry can best be described as eclectic and incorporates cello, vibraphone, timpani and accordion. They maintain a strong presence on Youtube with some videos topping 100,000 hits.

The concert is a benefit for Children’s Hunger Fund, a Los Angeles based international aid organization that has locations in Los Angeles, CA, San Antonio, TX and Chicago, IL. The Children’s Ministries at La Crescenta Presbyterian has built up a strong relationship with Children’s Hunger Fund over the past two years and has taken groups of children on supply-packing trips on no less than twenty occasions to their facility in nearby Pacoima. “We are thrilled to be presenting a band as talented as “Future of Forestry” all for such a great cause.” said  church  Senior Pastor Andy Wilson. In 2010, with a budget exceeding $60 million, Children’s Hunger Fund provided thousands of meals for families locally, nationally and internationally including for many families in African countries.

One other exciting component to the event is that we are asking folks to help needy students in the San Fernando Valley by bring  much needed school supplies such as  backpacks, pencils, paper, notebooks, pens, etc. Each Fall CHF provides filled backpacks to thousands of students.
