Glendale To Commemorate 'Week of Remembrance'

Events to highlight the "inhumanities" the world over.

The City of Glendale observes the inhumanities throughout the world during the Annual the Week of Remembrance. During the week, various schools, organizations and religious groups recognize the prejudice and division of the past and demonstrate the strong partnerships and unity flourishing in the Glendale community.

The Armenian Genocide Commemorative Event will take place Wednesday, April 24, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale. The program begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

The event will feature traditional Armenian dance & musical performances by local students.

The Keynote Speaker will be Micheline Aharonian Marcom, who has published four novels, which includes a trilogy of books about the Armenian Genocide and its aftermath in the twentieth century.

Tickets to the event are free (limit 4 per person) and will are available at the following locations: Alex Theatre, Americana at Brand Concierge Services and Glendale Community College.

Also during the Week of Remembrance is the Man’s Inhumanity to Man event at the Glendale Central Library Auditorium from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The event will showcase a short film, a testimonial lecture, and a question and answer opportunity detailing the atrocities inflicted upon a Korean “Comfort Woman” survivor.
