In January 1995, Alex Film Society presented their second event: The Wizard of Oz on the Big Screen at the Alex. Over the last 100 events, we have only repeated one until now.

The twist: it’s a Sing-A-Long version.
SING-A-LONG WIZARD OF OZ, an interactive film experience based on the most beloved motion picture of all time, and is a splashy night of theatre and film fully restored for the big screen.
SING-A-LONG WIZARD OF OZ invites audiences of all ages to celebrate the story of DOROTHY and her fantastical journey through the LAND OF OZ by joining in and singing along to some of history’s best known and loved songs in a theatre filled with audience members dressed up as their favorite Wizard of Oz characters. Our special guests include from the film Emerald City manicurist - Dorothy Barrett; and Nationally renowned Judy Garland impersonator, Elaine Horn.
As always, we present an original cartoon on the big screen: the 1939 Academy Award(tm) winner for Best Short Subject (Cartoons), The Ugly Duckling (Disney, 1939).
COSTUME CONTEST with great prizes! Be sure to attend dressed in your favorite OZ costume!
Munchkins, flying-monkeys, and twisters are all welcome.
