Silent Movie Show!

The Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley invites the community to enjoy an evening of silent films.
Joe Rinaudo, a long-time, passionate film collector and devoted preservationist, will present short movies from silent-era giants as Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton on his vintage, hand cranked motion picture projector.
Hand-cranked projectors were common during the early days of movies, not because of a lack of electricity, but because there was no standardization of the number of frames-per-second projected. The projectionist had to speed up or slow down his cranking speed to compensate for the original, unknown cranking speed of the photographer.
Accompanying the films on piano will be Dean Mora.
This is free and everyone is welcome.
