Patagonia- a virtual journey

The Crescenta Valley Sierra Club presents, Patagonia, with Fred Dong, on Tuesday evening February 8, 2011 at 7:30 pm at the Los Angeles Public Library, 2809 Foothill Boulevard, La Crescenta, California.  (The meeting room entrance is off La Crescenta Avenue.) Join world travelers Fred Dong and Stephanie Gross on their journey through Patagonia to see landscapes, mountains and glaciers of Southern Chile and Argentina.  You will see spectacular scenery on their hiking journey through Torres Del Paine National Park where beautiful Glacier Grey can be seen, with its glacially carved mountains and lakes and the wildlife living there.  Then ascend the Argentine Andes to see the magnificent Mount Fitz Roy and surrounding ranges.   See, also some of the largest glaciers outside of Antarctica, including the Perito Moreno Glacier and the Viedma Glacier.  They will show some of the unique Patagonian birds and mammals.  Also will be seen Tierra Del Fuego, Ushuaia, Punta Arenas and other southern area sights. Our program begins following news of Conservation and Outings.  Refreshments will be served.  The community is welcome and it is free.  Please contact Wayne Fisher, Program Chair at 818 353-4181, for further information.
