Two Men Allegedly Steal Deliveries From La Crescenta Family

The suspects apparently removed two delivered packages from a La Crescenta family's doorstep.

Two unknown men allegedly stole two packages--one containing a Pottery Barn baby bassinet--from a La Crescenta doorstep, according to the Los.

A nanny who was working at the home in the 2400 Block of Cross Street reported that two men apparently took the boxes sometime between 11 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Dec. 10, according to the crime report.

The witness told authorities that two boxes were delivered to the home. Before she could reach the boxes two men ran to the front of the residence, grabbed the boxes and went inside a green sedan and drove away. A full suspect description was not immediately availale.

Items inside the packages included a mattress cover from Amazon.com, a Pottery Barn toy box and Pottery Barn bassinet. Total damages were estimated $110.

I had a package stolen off my porch recently, too. It was only a pair of shoes, but now I've had to leave a note asking all delivery people to please not just leave packages, but to call so someone can come out and grab them. I live in La Crescenta and have never had this problem before. It's unfortunate.

Why can't we get a description of the perpetrators, including height, weight, race/ethnicity, approximate age, etc. Political correctness and the ban against racial profiling is making us less able to protect ourselves because we do not know what to look for!! Citizens of our community demand that you be provided with these important details.

@S. Silver - I'm glad that the citizens like yourself are attempting to request these details. You should take that up with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Crescenta Valley Station. The description of these two men was "two white males." You can visit the Crescenta Valley Station yourself and view the public crime records to see how neither height, weight, race/ethnicity nor approximate age were not available on this crime report.

I am sure they have this program out there like we do here..a neighborhood watch cooperative effort. Had there been one in that neighborhood, someone might have taken note of the green car with two men sitting in it (probably) and would be able to jot down the license number. etc. It makes me wonder how those guys seemed to know a delivery was going to be made. Maybe an "inside" job.

Forgot to suggest you might ask neighbors in area about two men and a green car. They may have noticed but do not know they stole packages. Two guys sitting in a car for a period of time would sure get my attention...Good Luck b

These guys must be pretty bold as the house was only a short distance away from the CV Sheriff's Station. Also, most of the street is not visible from most of the homes on Cross Street, so it is not strange that these guys weren't spotted.

They follow the delivery trucks!!! & wait. They are not really hanging around long enough to be spotted. The delivery guys should also be trained to be observant of being followed. The practice of 'leaving' packages in the first place is just wrong & very expensive to all of us in the long term.

Agreed, Denise. Many times the recipient is home and the delivery person cannot be bothered to even ring the bell or wait until someone opens the door. A lot of this problem lies squarely on their shoulders and they should be held accountable.
