Santa Anas Expected to Hit Los Angeles County

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Los Angeles County, including areas of the San Fernando Valley, in the return of the Santa Ana winds.

Wind gusts are expected to pick up Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning and could peak around 40 to 50 mph in Los Angeles County mountains, according to the National Weather Service. Valleys could experience 35 to 40 mph peak gusts, 

Officials say driving conditions could be difficult for high profilve vehicles from 10 p.m. Tuesday to noon Wednesday, the NWS reported. Winds are expected to decrease by Wednesday afternoon.  

Burbank, Northridge, Woodland Hills are nearby San Fernando cities also advised of wind gusts, according to the agency.

"The strongest winds will be later tonight through early Wednesday," the NWS reported. 

Wind advisories are issued by the NWS when winds are expected to reach 35 mph or higher.

"Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution," the NWS reported.
