Patch Picks: 5 Easter Activities You Won't Want to Miss

Check out these awesome Easter events; the holiday is fast approaching on April 24.

1.   annual Easter Egg hunt will be on Saturday, April 23, from 3-5 p.m. Children can join with their parents and friends in hunting for eggs around the library at this free event. 2465 Honolulu Ave., 818-548-2048.

2.Attend the "Spring into Summer" event at the on Saturday April 23. Enjoy free crafts and activities for children, including bounce houses, book fair, balloon animals, face painting, and Easter egg dying. Mad Science will be performing two shows at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. BBQ lunch is available for $3 per person if desired. 2902 Montrose Ave., 818-249-6137.

3. Make sure to check out Bunny's Spring Fling at the LA Zoo. Children can make bunny ears, have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny and pet real bunnies at this three-day event at the LA Zoo. There will be crafts, face painting, and music. It's happening April 22-24, from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. 5333 Zoo Drive, Los Angeles, 323-644-4200.

4.Take part in a local tradition of  at nearby Descanso Gardens. There is a buffet brunch in the Rose Pavilion with Easter baskets provided children to children 12 and under who participate in the hunt. The event is held on Saturday and Easter Sunday (April 23 and 34) with three seatings between 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The cost is $50 for adults, $18 for children 4-12, and free for children under 4 (and there are discounts for members). 5. Attend Easter Sunday Sunrise Services at the Hollywood Bowl. Gates open at 3:30 a.m. and services are from 5:30-7 a.m. Enjoy a non-denominational Easter service with multi-denominational clergy and a 240-voice choir, thousands of Easter Lilies and a release of doves at the end of mass.
